College Readiness can be defined as the level of preparation necessary for students to enroll and succeed—without remediation—in entry-level, credit-bearing, general education college courses. Career Readiness involves core academic skills and the ability to apply those skills to concrete situations in order to function in the workplace and in routine daily activities. All students should graduate from high school ready for college, careers, and life, prepared to pursue the future of their choosing. To be college and career ready, students must graduate with the knowledge, skills, and dispositions necessary to succeed.
