TSI TESTING
The Texas Success Initiative Assessment, better known as the TSI test, is a program which determines the appropriate level of college course work for an incoming student. The TSI test consists of three separate exams: Mathematics, Reading, and Writing.

SAT TESTING
The SAT is a standardized test that measures a student's skills in three core areas: Critical Reading, Math, and Writing. Students in grades 11 and 12 take the SAT so that they can submit their scores to colleges as part of the college application process
TR Jr/Sr High School will administer the SAT test on October 16, 2019 for all juniors and seniors who sign up the High School office. If you would like to register to take the test at another site, you may also register at:

ACT TESTING
The ACT is a standardized test used for college admissions in the United States. It is currently administered by ACT, a nonprofit organization of the same name. The ACT test covers four academic skill areas: English, mathematics, reading, and science reasoning. It also offers an optional direct writing test.
TR Jr/Sr High School provides transportation to Coastal Bend College on scheduled ACT dates. Please sign-up at the high school office. To register for the ACT visit:
-Fee Waivers-
You may be eligible for a fee waiver for the SAT or the ACT. Eligible students must meet strict criteria set forth by the College Board and ACT. For example, economic need is one criteria and a total of 2 fee waivers are allowed per student.

The PSAT is the best preparation the SAT and a "benchmark" for college readiness. Students who take the test in 11th grade and meet other program entry requirements may enter National Merit Scholarship Corporation programs.

ASVAB TESTING
The ASVAB Career Exploration Program can help students take steps now toward finding a career that's right for them. The program includes test and activities that help students identify their interests and provide information about verbal, math, science, and technical skills. It can also help them find out how their interests and skills relate to the demands of more than 400 occupations and start making their educational and career plans.
Juniors and Seniors will have the opportunity to take this exam at TR Jr/Sr High School on November 6, 2019.
